Laboratory

The Sepehr Sanat Negin laboratory is a well-equipped lab that’s ready to provide the services on measuring the following parameters to its dear customers:

Flash Point Test

Flash point testing is a procedure that’s used to determine whether a mixture of vapor and air is flammable and to figure out the temperature at which the flammability occurs.

An electronic thermometer such as a resistance thermometer or a thermocouple is used to measure the flash point. Of course these thermometers should use the same temperature measuring system as a mercury thermometer.

Water Percentage Test

The water percentage test is used to measure the amount of water in the crude oil using distillation methods. The result of this test is very important for different refinement, purchase, sales, and transportation processes. The measured water in this method is used for adjusting the final volume of the pure crude oil when transporting the product.

Sulfur Percentage Test

The goal of the sulfur percentage test is to measure the amount of sulfur in liquid, semi-liquid, and solid oil and its products.

A high sulfur percentage can increase corrosion when storing the product and create other issues for the consumer when it’s being burned or used.

Density Test

The test is used to measure the API gravity of crude oil and its products. The density of a sample plays a direct role in refinement processes and calculations.

Viscosity Test

The viscosity of a fluid is its resistance against deformation and flow. Viscosity is one of the most important properties of fluids and plays a crucial role in the oil industry and its products. The viscosity of crude oil is one of the criteria for measuring the pumping power and the amount of output when extracting oil from the ground. In addition to its importance in the oil industry, viscosity is important in other industries as well such as:

  • Food industry
  • Paint industry
  • Polymer coating industry
